Irish Pub Progress

Been working a lot lately, but I thought I would give you a quick progress shot of my irish pub painting. I still have a long way to go, but it has been a lot of fun working on this. 

Dueling Banjo Flats

Flat colors of James with his banjo.

And flat colors for Shayne with his guitar.
I wanted to have a piece of these two having a musical duel of sorts. They are both part of an Irish punk band that plays at the pub. James is also the bartender and Shayne owns the pub itself. Just something to keep me entertained.

What'll Ya Have?

James "Ares" O'Keeffe would be more than happy to get you a drink. This was a lot of fun to draw and paint. I can't wait to draw some more of the bar and the antics that take place there.

Self Portrait

I'm still experimenting with coloring styles. I've concluded that pencil lines are too rough for me to work with so I inked this digitally.

Bar Flat Colors

Flat colors on the bar painting. I'm undecided about how much detail to give the bottles on the shelves.

Experimenting with some new, quicker ways to paint. I think with some cleaner line work this might look nice.

Fishbowl Bar Sketch

For the past few months I have been designing and developing an Irish Pub in down town Boston, Mass. To get a better feel of the atmosphere I wanted to do a small illustration of the bar on a calm night. Here is the resulting sketch.
