Eask Your Spinach!

Popeye! I came across some Popeye t shirts when doing research and felt like drawing him in my own style. So here my own rendition of Popeye the sailor man.
Enjoy!

Pub Sketch & Background

This is a commission that I am working on for Trendane. A bunch of drunk and rowdy wolves singing at the pub.
Doing this painting has given me the opportunity to work on the layout of my pub a little more. Also I'm having the chance to work with more textures. So far it has been a lot of fun. I still have to go back and add the stage and band set in the back. Also the stools, tvs, lights and other decorations on the wall.

Projects

This is a sketch for a zombie kill painting I hope to get done in time for Halloween. The guy with an axe is going to be surrounded by a zombie horde. I'm just trying to decide on a color scheme, I'm thinking monochromatic.

This is just a character that I developed a few months ago for a science fiction project. I may or may not use her in a future, but I think she needs some more alien attributes.

Irish Pub Progress

Been working a lot lately, but I thought I would give you a quick progress shot of my irish pub painting. I still have a long way to go, but it has been a lot of fun working on this.

Dueling Banjo Flats

Flat colors of James with his banjo.
And flat colors for Shayne with his guitar.
I wanted to have a piece of these two having a musical duel of sorts. They are both part of an Irish punk band that plays at the pub. James is also the bartender and Shayne owns the pub itself. Just something to keep me entertained.

What'll Ya Have?

James "Ares" O'Keeffe would be more than happy to get you a drink. This was a lot of fun to draw and paint. I can't wait to draw some more of the bar and the antics that take place there.

Self Portrait

I'm still experimenting with coloring styles. I've concluded that pencil lines are too rough for me to work with so I inked this digitally.

Bar Flat Colors

Flat colors on the bar painting. I'm undecided about how much detail to give the bottles on the shelves.
Experimenting with some new, quicker ways to paint. I think with some cleaner line work this might look nice.
My character Shayne chewing on a cig and glaring a drunk at the other end of the bar.

Fishbowl Bar Sketch

For the past few months I have been designing and developing an Irish Pub in down town Boston, Mass. To get a better feel of the atmosphere I wanted to do a small illustration of the bar on a calm night. Here is the resulting sketch.
