Dueling Banjos... sort of

A piece I started about two years ago of my two favortie characters up on the bar just having a playful duel. Banjo vs Guitar!
Each of my characters has a furry and human side. Here you have Ares on the left in the kilt with the banjo and Shayne on the right with a guitar. They look a lot alike and its the running joke that Ares is a distant descendant of Shayne. (Shayne is immortal and is several thousand years old) These two are part of a band that plays at this pub that Shayne owns.
In the background I had intended on filling the pub with patrons, but this has sat for so long that I don't think it was going to happen. Its not as rendered as I would have liked, but its as far as I am going to take it. I just couldn't let it sit and collect dust any longer.
Cheers!

These creatures don't have a name yet, but I figure they are more of a secretive species. The do not have eyes and must rely heavily on sound, smell and a sonar like bats. The body type was originally more humanoid, but I felt something more streamline line a snake added a more odd movement to them.
Cheers!

Daddy's Girl

Grew up having a mom that drove an ambulance, a sister that was and a volunteer firefighter. Now I have a boyfriend that is a career firefighter. Also multiple friends that are firemen, policemen and in the military. I hold those people in very high regard and can't begin to put into words how amazing they are. This painting is for those men and women that we look up to for all they do and sacrifice.

Started going through all the art that I've had around and figured it was time to post some. Most of these have been collected for the past four years. Hopefully get some more sketches on this blog since they are my favorite part of an illustration project.
Fan art for the pop culture movie Repo!

War bunny

Commission I did for my sister of her husband in his Halloween custom.

I have no idea

Fruit in space! I asked for sugestions on things to draw and I got fruit and space.
One of my sisters asked for a print of an old painting I found it really needed some work.

Project from college of a six panel piece with a surprise ending.

Quick fun painting of a warlock.

Maggie

Finally pulled together a character sheet for Maggie the barmaid. She is the only girl working at the Dead Dog Pub. She has a snappy personality and keeps her patrons on their toes.
Cheers!

An illustration based off of the back story of my character Shayne. He was a war leader many years ago and was held in high regard by all that were under his command until his death.
Some more concept sketches to find how Shayne's personality changed over the hundreds of years that he had to walk the earth as a immortal.

Quick painting I did of my dad for his birthday.

Someone commented that of my older paintings looked like Ash. I disagreed and had to make my actual interpretation of Ash from the Evil Dead sagas.

Zombie Sam! He died while fighting his friend at guitar hero... He finds his 1 Up shirt to be rather ironic.

This was just a quick painting I did to play on some vibrant colors.
Cheers!

Pub

Been designing this pub for some time now. Been a lot of fun so I hope that I can keep going with it and work out all the small details. Still need to add in the tvs, the liquor and glasses. Still planning out all the sport and nick-nacks that will be on the walls. The stores for the pub are in the basement under the trap door inside the bar. Also wanted the bar to old fashioned and not have an easy access for the bar keeps. They have to hop over the bar itself to get in and out.  I'll post more ideas as I get them sketched out.
Cheers!

Science Fiction Development

Been working on this sci fi story for several years and this has been the develop of some of the characters.

This McCaide who originally was human and then as I went through development he became a science experiment. After another thought process I decided that he would be as a humanoid alien.

This creature is to be the bad guys of my story.

Older Art

Haven't been able to do a lot of art recently, but soon I will be diving back into rebuilding my portfolio full time. Thought I would put up some of the art I've done over the past year or so that hasn't made it to this blog.
Ares OKeeffe was happily relaxing with friends, playing music and having a few drinks. It was great until he heard is named being yelled from the end of the driveway, mom had dropped in. I messed up on angle of the beer in the bottle, I'd like to go back and fix that when I have the time.

Felt like drawing a classic truck and this was the result. It was a lot easier then I had though it would be.

A marker and colored pencil painting I did on the cover of my sketchbook.
Development for an alien species that my characters McCaide and Gavin stumble across.
From a much older story idea, this is Roland in a mech suit that he had built to fight crime... sounds a little batman like, but it's not. Probably one of the last paintings I did in photoshop.
A commission I did for my friend Terri of her two characters have a drunken conversation about the girl that got away.

This painting is actually about three years old, but I still like how it came out.

So here's hoping that you will be seeing a lot more new art from me soon.
Cheers!

Environments: Command Deck

Working on developing a series of environments from various stories that I have created over recent years. Going for more of a simplified style instead of my usual overly detailed one.

This is the main command deck of McCaide's space ship. His character is a tinkerer and is always looking for new a interesting technologies to integrate into is one ship. Which is why I wanted his ship to have a work in progress kind of feel. I'll go back and add more welded in plates and bolts from previous upgrades. His command chair will be another addition, but since it hovers around the room I figured it wasn't important.

An older piece I did of McCaide piloting his ship in a fight. One of the features of the command deck is a full 360 degree display of the space out side the ship. This can make the room seem much bigger than it actually is.

This was to be in the ship as well, but I hadn't decided in the over all design of the ship yet.  I intend do do a full blue print of the ship. The creature that has broken on to the ship is an Unmenisch male. They come from a dark planet, hence the bio-luminescent lights that they have in their huge antlers, and spines and their bio-luminescent eyes. Generally just giant brutes. They stand about four feet over a human at full height. More on them to come.
